After a change of pace with his Magenta Room project, Gareth Sloan returns as Halogen Star to give us some of his most developed and complex work to date. His previous album, God's Channel, was very much molded within the minimal techno formula that he had established himself with. While techno still remains extremely important to the overall feel and development of the songs found on Castor and Pollux, this album should be noted simply for it's punchy percussion and layered synth work.

The one thing that remains wholly impressive throughout is how Gareth has managed to stick to his sound foundations while expanding on them with each successive release. Sampling takes a backseat to sounds that have remained staples in his arsenal for years, now accompanied by drumming and an attention to atmosphere that makes Castor and Pollux reign supreme as one of his most expansive works yet.

Recorded and mastered from the Andromeda System during spring and summer of 2020.
Remastered in summer of 2021
