On November 11th, 2018, producers jobert and m a g g i e . w a v formed Vivarium Recordings. Being relative outsiders to the vaporwave community, the label was meant to be a space for the pair's future releases and a place to demonstrate where they wanted to take electronic music. Having not really fallen into any specific scene, the goal was to make steps towards finding the next evolution of their sound. This quickly opened up to other artists that wouldn't necessarily see releases from larger publications but nonetheless crafted something inhenrently interesting.

In effect, Vivarium Recordings became something of an art exhibition space for close friends, veterans unsure of their newest experiments and budding artists looking to take their first steps . Under the care of both jobert and m a g g i e . w a v, many of the label's releases would end up as collaborative efforts, with art consultation and feedback being provided to each of our artists.

We've created something of a bizarre band of misfits here and we wouldn't have it any other way. We want to thank you for a years worth of phenomenal music and we look forward to more future sounds.

This compilation is structured in alphabetical order, including one track from each artist that has appear on the label (excluding the work presented on Future Unknown).

This album makes you feel like you're inside an old computer that is on it's last legs. Everything is glitchy, aggressive, and decaying around you. There are only a few moments where it feels something is still functioning and intact, only to be followed by more sounds of disrepair. Truly a special experience. icu8some2
