Aura en el espejo - Sal de uvas

Running Time: 12 minutes, 45 seconds

Advertising with flavor and color.
Since its inception, radio has been an effective medium for advertising. In 1931, XEW broadcasted their program "The Songbook Picot" on Mexican radio, a space where popular music flourished on an unparalleled level. This songbook included remedies and cures for sicknesses and stomach ailments in the midst of its sheet music. Sal de uvas Picot (ENG: Salt of grapes), the antacid that inspired this project, seemed very surreal in its titile. This brought about a major question; are there salts from fruits other than grapes?

Sal de uvas in name alone felt like the title of a surrealist poem, one that came from a dream:

Look at the sky for your butterfly wings;
You say we're close
That you could steal something from me
Flutter your mask
I have sated the islands in your eyes.
You divide the envelope and empty it in your mouth
You spread the arms on my shoulders
As foam that hides the bodies of the drowned.

This music comes from a parallel reality where there is the salt of papaya, banana, melons, peaches, etc.

We are no longer consuming them through the radio, but instead in the heart of the internet.
