His first full-length release in two years, vaportrap wunderkind Jobert returns to grace us with an immersive collection of lossy drones and ethereal vaportrap under his Brosef Kony alias. While 'Public Pool of Sewage' has the sensibility of brobient baked into its DNA, Kony confidently wields the sound of trap, cloud rap and pop to color his foray into the microgenre with emotive flair.

On 'Pool', booming drums dispel crackling ambience like a cannon through mist, siren voices moan across seas of bitcrushed wake. The duality of this highly eclectic sound that Brother Kony has drawn for us lies in transmuting the bombastic presentation of the pop zeitgeist into the depressive, moody expressions found in the online underground.

Mangled samples bark out in pained melodies propelled by gargantuan percussion. The form of pop has been magnified and then crushed it into a new mould to voice fraught feelings of digital despair. Such tumultuous sorrow is only answered by a placid ebbing, the retreat of a defeated quell. Melancholy now spent, we are left to wade in its tarn.
