Runtime: 36:03

The tightrope you walk when experimenting with sounds that are not commonly heard together is a thin one. The ultimate aim should be to bring out a specific emotion or to evoke narrative, but it can quickly devolve into meaningless sound when the intention is muddled. Kauzmeat makes music like he's performing the most amazing highwire act the world has ever seen. While you could broadly categorize his work as ambient and vaporwave, it's his affinity for dissonance and moving atmospheres that makes his brand of art so compelling.

Already on an amazing run of albums with just over a year of producing under the Kauzmeat name, Inverse makes for another impressive cornerstone in his catalogue. This 36 minute journey is one that flows effortlessly from idea to idea and texture to texture. It's as melancholic as it is energetic, always busy and always evolving, with a bevy of likeminded producers helping to make each movement distinct while adding to the overall image this EP conjures. Inverse feels like a dedication to contemplative, rainy nights.

Inverse was written and produced by Kauzmeat.
Recorded and mastered in Chartier's Memory during Spring 2020.
Artwork by James Koch.
Featuring ezeki, katzenklavier, Hain's Point & County Conservation District.
