Andrew Mouge returns to Vivarium Recordings with a massive shift in focus and energy. Instead of constructing dense atmospheric drones fit for a science fiction epic, I CREATED VAPORWAVE redirects his VHS pop sentiments in more of a crowd pleasing blockbuster as opposed to his art film oriented stylings on Dimensional Shift. Although it would be improper to say that this album is any less artful than his other productions.

I CREATED VAPORWAVE can be effectively broken up into two halves, the first being a very involved take on the traditional vaporwave sounds that Andrew Mouge had built his foundation on, albeit refined to near perfection, the second captures the artist's move into original synthwave and chillwave compositions while maintaining the same tone and intent as his musical upbringings. Indeed, the title does not lie. Andrew Mouge created vaporwave. Once relying on the voices of others, he now is able to say infinitely more with his own.

I CREATED VAPORWAVE was written and produced by Andrew Mouge.
Recorded and mastered in the bowels of the internet during the summer of 2019.

This album makes you feel like you're inside an old computer that is on it's last legs. Everything is glitchy, aggressive, and decaying around you. There are only a few moments where it feels something is still functioning and intact, only to be followed by more sounds of disrepair. Truly a special experience. icu8some2
