Various Artists - Future Unbound

Runtime: 2:54:30

In commemoration of our 100th release, the community has come together to produce a sprawling vision of the future. 28 artists producing 31 tracks to a runtime of nearly 3 hours, spanning breakcore to drone and everything in-between - this is Future Unbound.

Releasing to-the-date of its predecessor's three-year anniversary, Future Unbound similarly segments its collaborative sprawl into chapters, outlining a narrative wherein mankind ventures further and further into the reaches of space, unbounded in our trek across the universe.

Chapter One - Gauntlet of Tempests (Tracks 1 through 12) sees us plunge into the stars, adventuring from one fraught alien society after another, in equal wonder and distress at the state of future society. Chapter Two - Adrift to Heavenly Bodies (Tracks 13 through 22) captures the meditative quality of the easygoing voyage beyond those familiar worlds, taking in celestial sights and ruminating on our humble existence respective to them. Chapter Three - The Foreign Expanse takes us beyond, into zones of bizarre, haunting abstraction, the distance between stars growing more vast, our experience of reality itself shifting, senses begin to bleed into one another. At the point where all has become unfamiliar, we reach the closing track, a 12-minute long epic return home, assembled from samples of the very first chapter of Future Unknown. Our future spiraling back to a past now augmented and new to us once again.

Thank you to all the artists who made this compilation possible. You're all wonderful.
